Meet Dr. Abir

Dr. Abir Aldhalimi’s inspiring journey—from growing up in a refugee camp to becoming an Ivy League-educated psychologist—has profoundly shaped her approach to mental health care. With experience across the U.S. and international communities, she has dedicated her career to better understanding mental health symptoms and expanding access to care for diverse populations.

Building on these experiences, Dr. Aldhalimi founded Unknotted, a modern mental health platform, that offers personalized, high-quality mental health services-for individuals and organizations.

Trained at Yale and Stanford, Dr. Abir Aldhalimi brings a deep understanding of how mental health challenges present across individuals, teams, and organizations. Through Unknotted, she has developed an evidence-based model that delivers practical, compassionate strategies for change at every level.

Dr. Aldhalimi is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and interpersonal therapy. She has also worked in an international federal agency and international organizations to address mental health at both the individual and systems level. Her expertise lies in helping people and institutions identify what’s holding them back—and designing strategies to support resilience, clarity, and lasting transformation.”
